Another normal school day today. Got back quite a few results... Faileed geog by 1 and a half marks -.-, expected it though. Got back chemistry. 25/45. Expected to do better. Went through chinese paper 1 too.
After the dreaded math extra lesson until 3.45 which surprisingly i understood what the teaher was talking about, i headed to the ISH (indoor sports hall) to watch the C Division training. Eager to see the new sec 1s have their first hand at the game, i guess it was worth the time. However i was surprised to see Darrell and Ryan there already, as i thought only I was stupid enough to go. Later on Jarryl came too. I spent slightly less than an hour there but had quite a bit of fun. Joking and suaning and trying to airhook half-balls with the school sticks. Lol
Recently, i've been watching Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny, the Japanese anime which is pretty popular. Yes i know its old but seriously i learnt quite a bit from it. The dilema of war. For example, the leader of ORB having to decide whether to side with the powerful Earth Alliance, armed with nuclear weapons but instigated the war or with ZAFT the defending nation, blamed for attempting to destroy the earth (by intentionally changing the orbit of a giant outspace object to hit Earth)
However more related to our non-fiction lives is something else also found in the anime. It is known as the SEED factor. Standing for Superior Evolutionary Element Destined-factor. Yes i know the name sounds wierd but it simply refers to a state of mind that surpasses the human limit. Synonymous to "Mind over Matter". Below is a extract from www.wikipedia.org (All rights reserved =.=)
"SEED mode represents the ability for an individual with the SEED factor to enter into a state of enhanced awareness and peak physical ability. While in this state, the person (usually a mobile suit pilot, but not necessarily) demonstrates heightened reflexes and extremely quick information processing. This ability is usually triggered by extreme situations or from recalling significant traumas, often arising out of a need to protect someone else in a critical situation."
"There are two observed ways that SEED mode can be activated. When a character suddenly resolves to protect his allies or to strike down his enemies during battle, however, it also happens when a character has entered battle with a particular resolve, he may trigger SEED mode at will. A character's state of mind when he enters SEED mode appears amplified. Entering it through the first way, in response to the stress of battle, is most commonly (but not always) caused by anger or rage. The heightened awareness and ability allows the person to fight more efficiently, often resulting in a much higher kill count. Those who enter it the second way (or the first way with a calm state of mind) display an increased amount of mental control."
"SEED mode can only be entered by characters who can commit themselves fully to a battle for some strong reason"
Although it may be fictitious, stuff that only appears in an anime or cartoon, i find that it may actually be true. Of course i dont mean it is used to fight wars in real life but similarly is can be applied to, for example, sportsmen. Triggered by one's determination to win or outdo his opponents, an athlete MAY be able to enter that state of mind as described above. It may sound like utter nonsense to you but i believe is something in us that is somewhat like that. Leave me a tag on what you think...
